Biography: 



Ali Khamenei was born in Mashhad, Iran, in 1939. He is the current Supreme Leader of Iran.

Before becoming Supreme Leader Ali played an important role in the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

He was the President of Iran from 1981 to 1989 before being named supreme leader in 1989 a

post he has held ever since. He was the victim of an assassination attempt in 1981, which he

survived.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Birth Place: Aradan, Iran 

Political Party : Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran, Islamic Society of Engineers

Profession:	Civil Engineer 



Biography: 



Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was born in Aradan, Iran, in 1956. He is the current President of Iran.

He studied Civil Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology, he also holds a PhD

from the same school. He was for a time a provincial governor and was later Mayor of Tehran.

He ran in the 2005 presidential elections and won, he was re-elected in 2009 although there were

large protest against the latest elections. He is a vocal critic of the United States and Israel, where

he does not recognize Israel's right to exist.
