Pal Schmitt was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1942. He is the current President of Hungary. Pal Schmitt was an Olympic athlete before joining politics, he won a gold medal in fencing during the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and the 1972 Munich Olympics. He was Hungary's ambassador to Spain from 1993 to 1997 and the ambassador to Switzerland from 1999 to 2002r. He was elected President of Hungary by the Parliament of Hungary in 2010.

He joined politics in 1988 when he helped found the Fidesz party. He was elected prime minister in 1998 as part of a coalition until 2002. He then served in the opposition until forming a new government in 2010.

Laszlo Solyom was born in Pecs, Hungary, in 1942. He is the current President of Hungary. He studied law at the University of Pecs. He is active within Hungarian environmental groups. In 1989 he joined the Constitutional Court of Hungary, and became it's president in 1990, he was an important figure in shaping Hungary's legal policies during his time at the court. He was also a university lecturer. He was elected president by the Parliament of Hungary in 2005.
