Biography: 



Blaise Compaore was born in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, in 1951. He is the current President

of Burkina Faso, and first came to the post in 1987. Blaise Campaore came through power thanks

to a coup against Thomas Sankara, he has been in power ever since. He was elected in an election

for the first time in 1991, he was then re-elected in 1998 and 2005.

Faso, notably in the finance and economic departments.
