Current Situation

 

Albania is located in south eastern Europe, it is bordered by Greece, Montenegro, Kosovo and Macedonia. Albania is a potential candidate for membership in the European Union, and has also received an invitation to join the NATO (North American Treaty Organization) alliance. Albania has sent peacekeepers to the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq and Chad. Albania is undergoing an economic boom and its telecommunications, transport and utilities infrastructure are being modernized and redone.
